The Public Involvement Process - Making It Successful!
A presentation on the successful public involvement process used to replace a bridge linking two cities on the gulf coast of Florida.
Madeira Beach and Treasure Island are two urban communities on the Gulf Coast of Florida, linked by a bascule bridge. Florida DOT proposed replacing this bridge, engaged the community in the process through a public involvement campaign, and maintained public involvement throughout the project. This presentation discusses the public involvement program, challenges, and successful tools and strategies used in the campaign.
