Traffic Calming (also called Traffic Management) refers to various design features and strategies intended to reduce vehicle traffic speeds and volumes on a particular roadway. Home Zones refers to an area with extensive Traffic Calming. Traffic Calming is becoming increasingly accepted by transportation professional organizations and urban planners.
